Start your puppy off on the right paw

Puppies are adorable, but they can be exhausting! Now that you’ve brought your new friend home, you might be feeling overwhelmed by housetraining accidents, “shark teeth,” socialization, or introducing basic cues like sit, stay, or come. Setting up your puppy with a strong foundation now can prevent behavioral issues down the road and will help them become a well-adjusted member of the family.

A word about socialization…

Your puppy’s early experiences between the ages of approximately 3 to 12 weeks are particularly influential in shaping whether they view the world with fear or confidence as an adult. Many new dog owners obtain their puppies around 8 weeks of age – that means a large portion of the socialization period has already passed! Never fear, there is still much you can do to ensure your puppy is properly socialized!

1. If you are getting your puppy from a breeder, ask them what work they have done to socialize your puppy during his or her early life. A responsible breeder will carefully introduce puppies to new sights, sounds, textures, people, and animals during their first weeks of life before they go off to their new homes.

2. Once you get your new puppy home, continue the socialization process. Carefully and positively introduce your puppy to new sights, sounds, materials, people, and animals before they reach approximately 12 weeks of age. You can continue introductions after 12 weeks, but just know these experiences are very important by this age! The most important part of socialization is that puppies have positive experiences. When introducing your puppy to new people, go at your puppy’s pace and be on the lookout for signs of stress. Bring your puppy’s favorite treats and help them learn that new experiences mean good things! Don’t worry, I can help you with this part!

Step 2: Pick your Plan!

Option 1: Day Training

I train your puppy for you

Want the bulk of the training done for you by a professional? Go with day training! Choose this option and I will come to your home three hours per week and train your puppy for you. You don’t even have to be there! Then, one additional hour per week will be spent transferring your puppy’s new skills to you and giving you something to work on. Each day training package includes two follow up sessions after training to wrap up loose ends and make sure you and your puppy are still succeeding.

Advantages of this plan:

Because an experienced professional is doing the training for you, your puppy will likely make more progress with day training than with coaching

Training sessions can take place while you are away at work or running errands!

3 weeks + 2 follow ups = $1400 (plus sales tax)

or

4 weeks + 2 follow ups = $1710 (plus sales tax)

All plans include email support

Option 2: Coaching

I teach you to train your puppy

Are you a dog nerd like me and want to do the training yourself under my guidance? Coaching is for you! Choose this option and I will come to your home once per week, teach you how to train your puppy yourself, and give you homework to complete for the following week. Each coaching package includes two follow up sessions after training to wrap up loose ends and make sure you and your puppy are still succeeding.

Advantages of this plan:

Training your puppy yourself is an enriching experience for both dog and owner and can strengthen the bond between the two of you

The pace of your puppy’s progress will be in your control

 6 weeks + 2 follow ups = $680

or

9 weeks + 2 follow ups = $880

All plans include email support
